One of the most critical components of any document development project is the initial development
of grammar rules and the adherence to these rules by the development team. Many companies have
successfully built internal grammar and style rules but have been unable to consistently apply
the rules during the document development phase. This process ends up being an after thought where
you try to review your work after execution is complete and before your deliver to the customer.
With the e-Rules system we have developed a business methodology and integrated application that
allows you to apply your internal writing rules against your documents as they are created.

With the e-Rules system an author or editor can push a single button and apply built-in or custom grammar rules such as the following:
- never use the phrase "all and all" but instead use "all in all"
- never use the phrase "in order to" but instead use "to"
- never use the word "epic integrated solutions" but instead use "Epic Integrated Solutions"
- never use the word "INCH" but instead use "In."
- Convert double spaces after punctuation to single space
- Check abbreviated UoMs or other abbreviation against UNECE, ISO, or other approved list
- or don't allow abbreviations and flag all non-standard words as errors
- Require capitalization on certain words or phrases
- Force italics, bold or underline on certain words or phrase
These are just a few examples of the types of validations that e-Rules can apply
to your documents. Once you start yo use this approach for document validation
you will quickly realize a plethora of additional validations you could apply to
your documents so that over time you develop documents faster, more consistent and accurate.
